Pudong International Airport (PVG) in Shanghai is one of the two airports that are there in Shanghai. It is situated in the the eastern portion of the district of Pudong in Shanghai in China. Prior to the establishment of the Pudong International Airport ( PVG) in Shanghai, the Hongqiao International Airport used to serve as the principal airport. But with the growth and development of the Chinese city of Shanghai, the government of China experienced the necessity of another airport. The airport was inaugurated on the 1st of October in 1999. Several flights take off from the airport to go to Hong Kong. Many of the flights go to Macau. These flights going to Macau depart from this particular airport.



There are altogether three runways in Pudong International Airport ( PVG) in Shanghai at present. The second runway was established in 2005. The third runway came into existence in the year of 2007. The construction of the forth runway is still going on. Japan granted an amount of forty billion yen to this particular airport. It is in the year of 2004 the airport tackled and operated about five hundred flights on each day. Pudong airport has two terminals. Terminal 2 has been recently structured.
